New Subclade Announcement: E-FT33868

We are very excited to announce the recognition of new subclade by YFull! The subclade is called E-FT33868, and it is downstream E-Y17357. This subclade has been on FTDNA for sometime as E-A20849. However, because YFull did not accept A20849 or its phyloequivalent SNPs, the subclade was never added to YFull's haplotree. After multiple E-A20849 members upgraded to the Big Y-700, we discovered that there was another phyloequivalent SNP to the subclade: FT33868. This SNP was accepted by YFull and thus it is a single SNP subclade, defined only by FT33868. With a total of 5 kits, YFull's age estimate for the TMRCA of this subclade is approximately 425 years ago. This is a well-dated subclade and is only slightly younger than its parent E-Y17357. The five kits at E-Y17357~ on YFull are likely in E-FT33868 as well but do not have the Big Y-700 and thus do not have positive reads for the SNP.  This subclade is primarily associated with group C02  and C11  in the Y-DNA ...

A New Subclade Announcement unlike all the others: E-FT41690

We are extremely happy to announce the recognition of another subclade by YFull! The subclade is called E-FT41690, and it has split multiple subclades downstream E-Y18621.  E-FT41690 is a subclade unlike all the others because it is defined by a SNP that was not found by Family Tree DNA's old Big Y and Big Y-500 tests, but rather in its new Big Y-700 test. That means that all Big Y tests before Big Y-700 did not even look at the location where the SNP FT41690 exists. What E-FT41690 has done has split around half of the subclades that were under E-Y18621. See here what E-Y18621 looked like before the E-FT41690 split. Now, see how E-FT41690 changes E-Y18621. Subclades E-Y135415, E-A18889, E-A16692, and E-A12255 have now been found to be downstream E-FT41690, and we have also identified someone who is E-FT41690*. The age estimate for E-FT41690 is the same as its parent E-Y18621: 1050 years before present, or 950 CE. This is a well-tested date within E-Y14891/AB-005...

New Subclade Announcement: E-A21058

We are proud to announce the recognition of another subclade by YFull! The subclade is called E-A21058, and it is downstream E-Y18621. Many thanks to our three Big Y testers whose kits are now defining the new subclade at YFull. Thanks also to another researcher who helped confirm the SNP A21058 at YFull.  It is a one SNP subclade defined by the mutation A21058.  YFull's age estimate with these three kits is 500 ybp. This appears to be a good estimate as the three kits all have similar numbers of novel SNPs.  This subclade is primarily associated with group  D63  in the Y-DNA results page  here . New Subclade Announcment: E-Y134153

We are happy to announce the discovery of a new subclade and its addition to YFull! The new subclade is E-Y134153, and it is downstream E-A12313/E-A12255.  Thanks to the two Big Y testers whose kits are now defining the new subclade! It is a one SNP subclade, defined by the mutation Y134153. This mutation is also called A20729.  YFull's age estimate for the TMRCA of this particular subclade is approximately 375 years ago, one hundred years later than the TMRCA of its parent E-A12313/E-A12255. Due to the amount of testing within E-A12313/E-A12255, this is likely a good estimate.  This subclade is associated with groups  DA51 and DA52  in the Y-DNA results page  here , along with its siblings in the E-A12313/E-A12255 subclade.  Both members of this subclade trace their paternal lines from Lithuania. We are enthused to announce the recognition of another subclade by YFull! The subclade is called E-Y182211, and it is downstream E-Y18621. Many thanks to the two Big Y testers whose kits are now defining the new subclade at YFull. It is a five SNP subclade defined by the mutations Y182211, Y182212, Y182213, Y182214, and Y182215. These are also called FT157343, FT157624, FT157038, FT157874, and FT157794 respectfully. With these two kits, YFull's age estimate for the TMRCA of this subclade is approximately 275 years ago. This is quite recent, and hopefully we will find candidates to split some of these SNPs into a new subclade.  This subclade is primarily associated with group  D62  in the Y-DNA results page  here . After a short break, we are excited to announce the recognition of another subclade by YFull! The subclade is called E-Y107937, and it is downstream E-A15856. Many thanks to our two Big Y testers whose kits are now defining the new subclade at YFull. It is a one SNP subclade defined by the mutation Y107937.  With these two kits, YFull's age estimate for the TMRCA of this subclade is approximately 600 years ago. As this is the same age as its parent E-A15856, it is likely that this subclade was formed quite quickly after its parent. This is normally indicative of a short period of large population growth.  This subclade is primarily associated with group  D11 and secondarily with D02  in the Y-DNA results page  here . The new subclade is E-Y145773, and it is downstream E-A12313/E-A12255.  Both members defining this subclade have been very helpful in their contributions to the project. Many thanks! It is a two-SNP subclade, defined by the SNPs Y145773 and A24460/FT58200 YFull's age estimate for the TMRCA of this particular subclade is approximately 450 years ago, equal to the TMRCA of its parent E-A12313/E-A12255.
